LOUTH, n. Also louthe. A large number, an abundance. Only in Cunningham. [lʌuθ]Dmf. 1810 R. Cromek Remains 286:
I' the very first pow I gat sic a louthe o' fish that I carried 'till me back cracked again.
Dmf. 1836 A. Cunningham Lord Roldan I. vi.:
Talking wi' you about cropping and draining and laying a great louth of beasts on Duncow-croft.
