I. v. To beat, scold; to walk with a heavy step; to work speedily and energetically, to declaim or harangue vigorously (Bnff. 1866 Gregor D. Bnff. 110). Vbl.n. luthiran, a beating (Id.).

II. n. A heavy blow (Id.).
