MALLDUCK, n. Also malduck. The fulmar, Fulmarus glacialis (Ork. 1806 P. Neill Tour 198; Sh. 1885 C. Swainson Brit. Birds 213). See also Mallimoke.Sc. 1803 Scots Mag. (April) 242:
Our sailors call them [fulmars] Mall-ducks, sometimes Mameluks.

We beat off malducks from tearing the blubber.
