MINOD, n. Also -ud, minvid(d), monvidd. [mə′nod, -′vɪd]

1. Midnight, the hours of darkness, esp. in phrs. to rek de minod, to gad about till late at night, to waak de minod, to sit long into the night (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)).Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl.:
To see through minvid — i.e. in the dusk or dark.

2. Fig. Obscurity, mystification, lack of candour.Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928):
I saw through the minvidd o' dat a' de time.
