MISFIT, v. Also misfet. [mɪs′fɪ̢t] To offend, to incur the displeasure of (Bnff. 1866 Gregor D. Bnff. 288; Bnff., Abd. 1963). Hence ppl.adj. misfitted, -it, offended, displeased (Abd. 1963). Cf. fittit s.v. Fit, v.2 and Miscomfit.Abd. 1880 W. Robbie Glendornie xvi.:
