MOOI, n. Also mui (Jak.). A muddy and sandy stretch of foreshore (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)); a kind of green sea grass or seaweed which grows on such a shore and is eaten by cattle (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl., 1914 Angus Gl., mui).
