MUCKIE, n. Also muckack; muckin.
Comb. muckiefarlie. The fruit of the dog rose, a rose-hip (Rs. 1910–49, muckins; Rs., Inv. 1963, muckie, -ack). [′mʌke]Cai., Rs. 1942 Scots Mag. (Jan.) 267:
I have known various names for the hips and recently in Ross-shire heard it called “muckack”, and in Caithness “muckiefarlie”.
