NUGGLE, n. A lump, bump or protuberance on a road surface, etc. (Bwk. a.1838 Jam. MSS. XI. 129); a lump raised on the head, a swelling (Ork. 1929 Marw., Ork. 1964). Comb. nuggle-baned, having prominent or knobbly bones (Bwk. a.1838 Jam. MSS. XII. 156). Adj. nugglie, of ice: rough, uneven.Bwk. a.1838 Jam. MSS. XII. 156:
I canna skide here; for the ice is aw nugglie.
