OBTEMPERATE, v., tr. To obey, comply with. Rare and obs. in Eng. except intr.Ayr. 1731 Ayr Presb. Reg. MS. (8 Dec.) 449–50:
They appoint John Meikle to obtemperate the s[ai]d sentences of the session.
Sc. 1766 W. Gordon Gen. Counting House 340:
When the order given is obtemperated by acceptance, the drawer is then out of the question, unless the accepter fail.
Sc. 1865 Blackwood's Mag. (Sept.) 343:
After a violent quarrel the guides obtemperated his demands.
