OWERRIDE, v. Also o'erride. Sc. form and usage of Eng. override: of the wind, to blow over or across so as to leave no shelter.s.Sc. 1857–9 Trans. Highl. Soc. 177:
In pastoral language, the wind was said to “o'erride it [the land]”, so as to leave “no solid beild.”
