†PALLION, n.2 Also pellion. A reduced Sc. form of pavilion, a (military) tent. In 1800 quot. below prob. an archaism of Scott.Sc. c.1800 Scott Minstrelsy (1833) I. 345:
They lighted high on Otterbourne, And threw their pallions down.Rxb. 1835 F. G. Peake Change at St. Boswells (1961) 88:
