PARALYTIC, n. Sc. usage: an attack of paralysis. Also in pl. with def. art. = paralysis, a paralysing disease. ? Only in Galt.Ayr. 1821 Galt Annals iv.:
Old Mr. Patrick Dilworth, that had so long been doited with the paralytics.
Ayr. 1822 Galt Provost lxvii.:
Mr. Peevie, who had a paralytic, and never in consequence was made a bailie.
