PARTICLE, n. Sc. usage: a small piece of land, a plot of ground. Also in Manx dial. Cf. Pendicle, Particule.Sc. 1839 Wilson's Tales of the Borders V. 330:
Confiscation o' a' gudes, gear, chattels, particles, and pendicles.

[O.Sc. has particula (Latin charter), a small piece of land, 1540, Latin “a small portion”.]
