¶PIEGE, n. A trap, e.g. for rodents, a snare of any kind (Per. 1808 Jam.).
[If the word is a genuine Sc. usage, the coincidence with Fr. piège, trap, snare, must be fortuitous. There may be some connection with Puidge.]
