PITTOUGH, int. Also piteuch. A cry imitating the sound of a shot. [pə′t(j)ux]Ags. 1819 J. Bowick Montrose Char. (1880) 27:
He then presented — fired — and, at the shot, Halloed with sudden sound, crying “Pittough”!
