PLANET, n. Also plannit, plenit; plennit (Slk. 1827 Hogg Shep. Cal. (1874) xvii.). Sc. forms and usage: an area of ground, a locality, region. Comb. planet-shower, a heavy, but localised, shower of rain, a downpour in one restricted area (Uls. 1880 Patterson Gl.). Also in reduced form planet, plenit, id. Cf. Eng. dial. to rain in (by) planets, to pour in one area but not in another.Sh. 1836 Gentleman's Mag. II. 592:
