PYSTER, v., n. Also peyster.

I. n. To accumulate and secrete (objects), to hoard (Cld. 1825 Jam.). Hence pystery, n., an article which has been hidden away, a hoard, cache (Ib.).Lnk. 1818 A. Fordyce Country Wedding 59:
There's pysteries yonder a sick-nurse might pay, An' have plenty to furnish her dredgie wi' whey.

II. n. A miser “who feeds voraciously” (w.Sc. 1825 Jam.; Kcb. 1900).
