QUORUM, n. Sc. usage: a gathering, esp. of friends for social purposes, a company. Mostly poet.Abd. c.1760 J. Skinner Amusements (1809) 56:
Blythe and cheerie we'll be a', And make a happy quorum.
Edb. 1772 Fergusson Poems (S.T.S.) II. 34:
But banish vile Italian tricks From out your quorum.
Ayr. 1796 Burns O May, thy Morn ii.:
