Mry.1 1925:
Stop that rancin aboot an' nae ca' deen yer claes an' sheen.

[Prob. a variant of Rant, by conflation with race, dance, prance. Direct connection with Norw. dial. ransa, to rush about, or M.H.Ger. ranzen, id., is not apparent.]
