Refounding to the party lesed his dammadge and expences.
Ayr. 1736 Ayr Presb. Reg. MS. (29 Dec.) 132:
The Collection to refound the Cautioners in building the bridge at Colmonel.

[O.Sc. refound, refund, 1474, variant of refund. In Sc. the second syllable should normally have a short vowel. The -ou which prob. represents [u] may be due to the influence of Found, n., 3.]
