RENZIE, n. A row or line (of trees), a strip of planted wood.Ayr. 1765 Session Paper s. Howetson v. Logan (23 July) 2,3:
There was about five alder-trees cut in the renzie on the water-side. . . . They cut trees in the wood of Burnhead and renzies of the wood.

[Prob. a variant of Reenge, n.1, 1. (see note s.v.), the z representing [ ȝ] or [dȝ] and not [j] as more commonly in Sc. spelling.]
