REQUISITION, n. Sc. legal usage: a demand by a creditor for repayment of a debt (Sc. 1946 A. D. Gibb Legal Terms 76).Sc. 1722 W. Forbes Institute I. IIL 17:
A wadset is extinguished by Consent of the Wadsetter only, when he requires Payment of his money. In this Requisition the same Solemnities are used.
Sc. 1754 Erskine Principles II. viii. § 11:
If the wadsetter chuses to have his money rather than the lands, he must require . . . the sums due by the wadset, in terms of the right. This instrument of requisition did . . . dissolve the real right constituted by the wadset.
Sc. 1838 W. Bell Dict. Law Scot. 855:
In certain cases, requisition is necessary to put the debtor in mora; and then the proper way of proving requisition is bv a notarial instrument.
