SCAUR, n.2, v. Also sker. Sc. spellings of Eng. scar, the mark of a wound, to gash, wound (Bnf. 1869 Banffshire Jnl. (27 April) 9; Gall. 1880 Bards Gall. (Harper) 50; Abd. 1921 R. L. Cassie Doric Ditties 10; Rxb. 1923 Watson W.-B.). Sc. usages, as n. a mark or smudge left on badly-washed clothes, as v. to mark clothes in this way (Watson).
