SEDGE, n. Sc. usage in comb. sedge-singer, the sedge-warbler, Acrocephalus schoenobaenus (e.Lth. 1892 J. Lumsden Sheep-Head 76, 1896 Id. Poems 188). This usage is found only in Lumsden and is prob. not genuine Sc. The normal Sc. form is Seg, n.1, q.v.
