SHARK, n. Sc. usages: 1. the monk-fish, Squatina angelus (Abd. 1818 J. Arbuthnot Fishes 60). Cf. Eng. angel-shark, id.;
2. in dim form sharkie, a notched spanner (Per., Lnk. 1970), from its tooth-like similarity to a shark's jaws.
