SHILP, adj., n. [ʃɪlp]

I. adj. Sour, acid in taste (Cai. 1904 E.D.D., Cai. 1970). Also fig. of speech: sharp, tart (Cai. 1970).

II. n. A thin, pinched-looking person.Ayr. 1901 G. Douglas Green Shutters xxi.:
He's taen a fancy to yon bit shilp in the bar-room of the Red Lion.
