SHORD, v.2 To impress (something) on a person's mind by constant repetition, to din (a thing) into one (Sh. 1914 Angus Gl., Sh. 1970). [ʃɔrd]Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928):
He shorded it weel in his lugs.

[Jak. takes as an extended use of Shord, v.1, but it is more prob. that it is a semantic development of Shore, v., with altered form on analogy with Shord, n., from shore.]
