†SHORELING, n. Also shurling. Sc. variants of Eng. †shorling, a newly shorn sheep or its skin (s.Sc. 1825 Jam.). Hence shurling-skin, “the skin of a sheep of any age or sex, taken off before the wool has grown again after it has been shorn” (Id.). See also Shirling.Abd. 1707 Session Papers, Magistrates Abd. v.
