SIELACK, n. Also sielik, silek, -ik, sillock; sillo (Ork. 1929 Marw.). A young sow, esp. one with her first litter (Sh. 1845 Stat. Acc.2 XV. 128, 1914 Angus Gl.; Ork. 1929 Marw.). [′silək]
[Orig. uncertain. Jak. postulates a dim. deriv. *sylingr of O.N. sýr, a sow, but the word may be rather a borrowing from Gael. sìolag, id.]
