I. n. An overhanging rock, a cliff with a naturally hollowed face which can be used as a shelter esp. for animals (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928), Sh. 1970).Sh. 1892 Manson's Sh. Almanac:
As I wis stridin roond a scaavie, my fit stricks a peerie toog.
