SKRÜID, n. Also skrø(d) (Jak.). A land-slide, an avalanche, a steep slope where the soil has been eroded, or where a landslip has occurred (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928), 1914 Angus Gl.); stony land in gen. (Sh. 1970). Common in place-names in Sh., gen. in form Skrue. [skrø(ð)]
