SLACKEN, v. Sc. usage: to slake, quench (thirst). Also in n.Eng. dial.Rnf. 1835 D. Webster Rhymes 20:
'Tween ae wee faught and anither, We scarce hae't to slacken our drouth.

[The usage is phs. due to formal confusion between Slocken and slacken. But cf. †Eng. slack, to slake.]
