I. n. A lazy, dilatory person (Kcb. 1900).Gall. 1896 Scots Mag. (Jan.) 108:
A “sloot o' a laddie, aye daunerin' ahint the ither lads and lasses frae the schule.”

II. v. To drink in noisy gulps.Dmf. 1917:
He's sloutin at the spigot.
