CADIE, n. [′kedi]
1. A man's or boy's cap, "gen. applied to a glengarry" (Rnf., Lnk. 1887 Jam.); a school cap (Fif. c.1880); an ordinary flat cloth cap with a peak (m.Sc. 1975); the military cap or bonnet of the Sc. Highland regiments, a Kilmarnock or Balmoral bonnet (Sc. 1937 Patridge Slang Dict.). Also in Eng. dial. or slang use.
2. The peak or prow of a rowing boat (Fif. 1911).
