DOCKER, n. A stone used in the game of Duck, q.v.Ags. 1887 J. McBain Arbroath 332:
Docker was also another game played in the summer evenings first outside the town. A large stone was placed on a big boulder, the playing distance being marked off, and the player having supplied himself with stones also of considerable ponderosity aimed at stone number one, calling out as he threw his stone “docker”. If he knocked off the stone it scored one to him, but if he omitted to cry “docker” then though his aim was sure he lost his score, if one of his opponents shouted out the word before him.

[Cf. Dockie, n.]
