FETTESIAN, prop.n. A member, esp. a former pupil, of the boys' school, Fettes College, Edinburgh. [fɛ′tiȝən] [From Sir William Fettes (1750-1836), merchant and Lord Provost of Edinburgh, who founded the endowment for the school in 1830.]
