FUNGIE, n. In children's usage: a salmon (Rxb. 1975). [′fʌŋgi] [Appar. orig. a diseased salmon, attacked by fungus, but extended to any salmon. Fungus disease was prevalent in the Tweed and its tributaries in the late sixties and early seventies. Cf. Myxie.]
