I. v. In comb. hanging leaf, the name of a variety of summer pear.Cld. 1802 W. Forsyth Fruit Trees 91:
Hanging leaf; this is its name in Clydesdale, good and beautiful; almost round; its colour red and yellow; a delicious sweetness is found in its taste.

II. n. Part of the suspension of a church bell. See Hing, n., 2.Ags. 1746 Session Rec. Arbirlot MS. (13 July):
