¶KENYEE, n. A sea-taboo term for corn (Sh. 1814 Irvine MSS.). [The word is prob. to be related to a palatalised form of Norw. korn, cf. Norw. dial. koinn, id., with suff. art. -et, but the exact formation is uncertain.]
