MULIAK, n. In pl.: “mittens” (Sh. 1814 Irvine MSS.). In sea-taboo usage. [Sic, but the meaning may be erroneous. Cf. Sh. Norn mul, the toe of a stocking, poss. used in a transferred sense. The form is a dim. in -ek, -Ock, of Mull, n.1]
