NILLIEPIN, n. See quot.Per. 1900 Law Reports (Lords) 407:
When the strain is very heavy on the twoline he fixes it to the pin or to a rope attached to the pin with a sort of wooden harpoon or nilliepin [in a river salmon-net].
[nillie is a variant dim. form of knule, Knewel, q.v., a toggle.]
