PEA HOT, n.comb. A children's game (see quot.).Gsw. 1969 I. & P. Opie Children's Games 155:
In this game there is initially one seeker, but those whose hiding-places have been discovered, or who have been seen while attempting to reach home, join the seeker in searching for the rest, so that eventually all the players (it is best if there are not more than ten) are looking for the last person. . . . In some parts of Glasgow it is called ‘Pea Hot’, since this is the hiders' call when they are ready.
