CALEDONIAN, adj. Geol. 1. Referring to the eastern gneisses of Northern Scotland (1883 C. Callaway in Quarterly Jnl. Geot. Soc. XXXIX. 355).
2. In reference to a deformation in the mountain-forming of N.W. Scotland (1888 E. Suess Antlitz der Erde 100).
