DALHOUSIEA. Bot. A genus of leguminous shrubs of the Himalayas and W. Africa (c.1830 N. Wallich in R. Wright and G. Arnott Icon. Plant. Indiae Orient. I. 265). Also as dalhousiae, in Bot., specif. name of a spleenwort fern, Asplenium dalhousiae, from the Himalayas (1837 W. D. Hooker Icon. Plant. II. 105), in Zool. of Eurylaimus psarisomus an E. Indian hornbill (1835 Edb. New Philos. Jnl. XVIII. 389).
