MACLAURIN. From Colin Maclaurin (1698–1746), of Kilmodan, Argyll, Professor of Mathematics at Edinburgh.
1. Astron. A crater on the moon to the north of Mare Fecunditatis.
2. Maths. In phr. Maclaurin's theorem, the theorem that a function of x may be expanded as a polynomial in x and derivatives of f(x) when x = 0.
