2. Zool. Specif. name of a fossil bivalve shell, Inoceramus, of New South Wales (1847 F. McCoy in Annals & Mag. Nat. Hist. (Nov.) 299); of a fossil South Australian wombat, Phascolomys (1838 R. Owen in Three Exped. Australia II. 362); of a jerboa, Dipus (1845 in J. Gould Mammals Austr. III. 19), and of various Australian insects.
