MOINIAN, adj. Geol. Referring to a series of granulose metamorphosed sediments, supposedly of Torridon sandstone, covering a large area in North-West Scotland (1888 Peach and Horne in Quarterly Jnl. Geol. Soc. XLIV. 378).
