OUTGO, n. law The departure from a tenancy of land. Cf. outgae v., n. 1. (3), outgang n. 1 and ingo.Sc. 1990 Scots Law Times (Land Court) 7C:
The statutory provisions governing compensation at outgo for landholder's permanent improvements are contained in ss. 8 and 10 of the Crofters Holdings (Scotland) Act 1886.
Sc. 1997 The Hon. Lord Gill The Law of Agricultural Holdings in Scotland 174:
16.24...In both cases the notice must be served against "the term of outgo stipulated in the lease" or where the unexpired period of the lease was two years or less at the date when the tenant acquired right to the lease, "the term of outgo stipulated in the lease or the corresponding date in any subsequent year, ...". "Term of outgo" in these sections is synonymous with ish and refers to the term at which the lease comes to an end.

23.01...Only on this interpretation in a Whitsunday lease could the section cover, as it plainly must, the separation of the tenant's last crop after his formal outgo under the lease.
