STACHIE, n. Hypocoristic form of stationer. [′stɑʃi]Abd. c.1835 A. Jervise Epitaphs (1875) I. 284:
He was employed as a book canvasser, in allusion to which he was known as Stachie (i.e. Stationer) Laing.
