STAMMEREL, n. “Friable stone” (n.Sc. 1808 Jam.), more correctly, a building stone in which the grain is irregular and runs at various angles through it (Fif. 1971); broken fragments accumulated in the bottom of a quarry after the rock has been removed (Mry. 1925). [′stɑmerəl]
